Erotic Art Classes

Erotic Art Classes

Put your cellphone camera away and pick up a pencil or other drawing tool while learning to capture the nuances of the human body during a workshop from 5-8 p.m. May 12 at the Erotic Heritage Museum.

Facilitated by local artist Kelly Knox, the Drawing the Figure from Life workshop costs $55 and is scheduled to include a live model. It will cover beginning or sighting the human figure; blocking in shapes and shadows; and finishing, refining and creating a likeness.

Participants must bring watercolor or mixed media paper measuring 24-by-18 or a similar size, as well as an eraser and drawing implements, such as pencils, charcoal, conte crayon, pens, white chalk or pastels. No watercolor pens or brushes are allowed. A drawing board or easel may be used only if portable and modest-sized.

Kelly Knox has taught and written curricula for classes in oil painting, figure drawing, design and composition, art history and more. He holds a master’s in humanities and a bachelor’s in drama. Most recently, he taught Painting Techniques of the Old-World Masters for UNLV’s continuing education and outreach program.

The Erotic Heritage Museum is at 3275 Sammy Davis Jr. Drive. Visit www.eroticmuseumvegas.com or call 702-794-4000.
