The Erotic Heritage Museum is literally having a casting call for its planned Evolution of Human Sexuality exhibit, slated to open Oct. 15.
The museum seeks to create castings of participants’ vulvae and penises, as well as the genitals of intersex individuals and other gender-nonconforming people to show the beauty and diversity of people’s sex and reproductive organs.
The castings will be done by art professionals in a safe and private place from noon-5 p.m. July 24-26 at the museum. Participants must be 18 or older with ID and sign a consent form. Those who wish to be considered must practice basic hygiene beforehand, and the museum reserves the right to turn people away.
Those who have castings done will receive free general admission tickets to the popular adult comedy show “Puppetry of the Penis,” performed live at 8 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays inside the museum’s Jewel Box Theater.
The Evolution of Human Sexuality exhibit will include seven major species that have shaped the development of our evolutionary perspective. The exhibit will be immersive and include life-size skull cast replicas of our evolutionary journey, anatomically correct models, media images and a detailed graphic of our evolutionary tree, among other features. A preserved human body acquired from Von Hagens Plastination in Germany also will be part of the exhibit.
